This is a site dedicated to Finca Cántaros, a private nature reserve in southwestern Costa Rica near the town of San Vito. The 17-acre property features a natural 1-hectare (2.5-acre) lake, vista point overlooking the nearby town and Talamanca Mountains, paths and gardens, sheltered pavilions for private gatherings, a crafts store considered by many the best in this region, and a small lending library is open to the local community. The owner and founder, Gail Hewson Hull, purchased most of the property in the early 1990s and has converted what was mostly pasture to forests and gardens. Her interest in the indigenous cultures of Costa Rica, Central and South America and their native crafts led to the establishment of the Cántaros crafts store. Over the coming weeks and months, she and her husband, Harry Hull, will be adding more information about the Finca and the surrounding tropical highlands of this wonderful corner of Costa Rica.
